Today’s Tip: Clean from High to Low

Dust upper surfaces first and finish with the floor so you do not have to clean the same area twice.

Published September 20, 2026

Make today’s cleaning faster by working from the highest surface down. Dust and crumbs naturally fall as you clean, so this simple order keeps finished areas from getting dirty again.

Try this order

  1. Dust ceiling fans, vents, and the tops of cabinets or shelves.
  2. Wipe desks, tables, counters, and other middle-level surfaces.
  3. Clean baseboards and lower furniture.
  4. Vacuum, sweep, or mop the floor last.

This method works well in kitchens, offices, bedrooms, and shared workspaces. Use a stable step stool for high areas—never stand on a chair—and follow the care instructions for each surface.

Simple tips. Cleaner spaces. Happier places.
