Today’s Tip: Reset Your Cleaning Supply Caddy

Remove drips and dust from the caddy, inspect each container, and return supplies only after everything is clean and dry.

Published October 3, 2026

A cleaning caddy can collect dust, damp cloths, and product drips even while it helps keep supplies organized. Today’s focused reset cleans the container and checks each item before the caddy goes back into storage.

Your step-by-step cleaning-caddy reset

  1. Put on household cleaning gloves and move the caddy to a well-ventilated work area away from food, children, pets, and personal-care items. Keep every product upright.
  2. Remove one item at a time without opening it. Check each original label, cap, trigger, and container for leaks, cracks, missing directions, or a disposal date provided by the manufacturer.
  3. Set damaged or leaking products aside in a secure, ventilated location where they cannot spill. Follow the product label and local household-hazardous-waste guidance instead of pouring unwanted cleaner into a sink, toilet, or trash can.
  4. Empty loose debris from the caddy into the trash. Wash the caddy with mild dish soap and water if its material permits, or wipe it with a damp cloth, paying attention to corners, handles, and the bottom.
  5. Wipe the outside of intact product containers with a separate lightly damp cloth. Do not open bottles, spray products, or let cleaner from one container touch another.
  6. Let the caddy and every bottle exterior dry completely. Return products upright with labels facing outward, then store the caddy in its designated secure location away from heat and direct sunlight.

Keep the caddy ready to use

Remove used cloths and sponges after each cleaning session, wipe fresh drips promptly, and check caps before carrying the caddy. A quick monthly inspection makes it easier to spot damage before a container leaks.

Safety note

Never mix cleaning chemicals or transfer them into drink bottles, food containers, or unlabeled containers. Keep products in their original packaging and follow every label’s storage and disposal directions. Do not clean a leaking container with another chemical. Keep the caddy locked or otherwise inaccessible to children and pets, and contact local poison control or emergency services immediately if an exposure occurs.
